-Brief description-
-> Pooles Park primary school.
-> A task was to design a shelter for children. The problem was that they tend to have some classes outside and there's nowhere to hide when it rains. So, they wanted to have a shelter/outdoor classroom that would fit about 30 children in.
-> Budget was £500 (raised to £600 and even £700 later on). Looked like alot, turned out to be way too little.. (or more like we turned out to be too ambitious)
-> Duration: 2 weeks (only 4 days of building though)
Site when we first saw it and after we brought our hand saws, shears and other tools.
One of the key features in this project was 'Jenga' wall inspired by Peter Zumthor's Swiss Pavilion. It was assembled from pieces of wood cut from two dead trees found on site. Every single bit of this wall has at least two screws in it holding all parts together.
